Four men have been charged following the death of 21-year-old filmmaker Finbar Sullivan at Primrose Hill in north London.
Brutal Attack at Primrose Hill
On April 7, at approximately 6:40 PM, Sullivan was allegedly surrounded by up to seven men who subjected him to a violent assault. The attack involved repeated punching, kicking, and stabbing.
Witnesses, including members of the public, filmed the assault on their mobile phones. Paramedics arrived at the scene but were unable to save Sullivan’s life.
Victim's Background
Finbar Sullivan was a student at the London Screen Academy and worked as a filmmaker under the name Sully Shot It, producing music videos. His father, Christopher Sullivan, stated that his son had no gang affiliations and was entirely focused on his career.
Christopher Sullivan described his son as a loving and talented young man with no history of violence or criminal activity.
Charges Filed Against Suspects
Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27, is accused of punching, kicking, and stamping on Sullivan after he fell to the ground. Ernest Boateng, 25, allegedly kicked Sullivan to the floor before the stabbing and then punched him while he was defenseless.
Alexis Bidace, 25, is also charged with murder for his alleged involvement in the attack. Khalid Abdulqadir, 18, faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, violent disorder, and possession of a knife, but denies the murder charge.
Prosecution Details
Prosecutor Jennifer Newcomb stated that Sullivan was surrounded, punched, pushed to the ground, and then brutally assaulted with punches, kicks, and stabs, including a fatal wound to the thigh. A second victim also sustained stab injuries during the incident.
Upcoming Trial and Tributes
A provisional trial date has been set for January 5 of next year, following a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for July 1. The trial is expected to last eight weeks.
Family and friends have left tributes at the scene, including flowers, cards, and T-shirts, in memory of Sullivan. His father expressed his devastation, describing Finbar as his only son and a deeply loved individual with aspirations of becoming a professional cameraman.
