Zendaya addressed the topic during an appearance on the "Modern Love" podcast. Host Anna Martin directly asked the actress if she had any “martial news” to share with five minutes remaining in the episode.

Zendaya acknowledged the significant public interest in her relationship with Tom Holland. She stated, “I just feel like, for me, there is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand.”

The Emmy-winning actress explained her awareness of being a public figure, as is Holland. She also noted their shared history of growing up in the public eye and portraying romantic interests in films, leading to increased scrutiny. “I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that, like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever,” Zendaya said.

Despite understanding the public’s fascination, Zendaya emphasized her need for privacy. “In a lot of ways, I also am a very private person,” she explained. “I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well.”

The couple strives for a balance between openness and protecting their personal lives. “We do our best, in general, to not hide ourselves from the world, but just to, I think, preserve things for ourselves, so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our families,” Zendaya shared.

She concluded by stating she is aware of the public’s interest but also maintains boundaries regarding what she chooses to share. “That's my broad way of just saying I hear it, but I also like my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I'm also willing to share.”
