Wrestling Event Erupts in Violence
Professional wrestler Mads Krule Krügger, also known as Krule, was allegedly stabbed by a fan after a show in Berwyn, Illinois on Saturday, March 28th. The incident occurred at a Ruthless Pro Wrestling event and was partially captured on video.
Initial Altercation Before the Match
Fan's Confrontation with Krule
According to fellow wrestler Lou Nixon, the altercation began before Krule’s match. Nixon explained that the fan initially approached Krule at the merchandise table, inquiring about prices. After a brief exchange, the fan reportedly refused to pay and made a confrontational statement.
Incident During and After the Match
Melee and Alleged Stabbing
During Krule’s match against Shlak, the same fan was reportedly knocked over during a scuffle outside the ring. Following the event, the fan allegedly confronted Krule, challenging him to a fight while wielding a weapon. Nixon claims the stabbing occurred as the fan tackled Krule, resulting in a wound caused by a sharp object, believed to be a blade.
Video Footage and Witness Accounts
A video shared by Nixon on Facebook depicts a large fight breaking out inside the venue. Mickie Knuckles, another wrestler at the event, corroborated Nixon’s account to Cultaholic. Knuckles stated the fan tackled Krule through a table and stabbed him in the lower right abdomen.
Aftermath and Current Status
Krule's Condition and Response
Despite the alleged stabbing, Nixon reported that Krule appeared to be in good spirits. He described Krule returning to their lodging, showering, having a beer, and then boarding his flight home. Fellow wrestlers intervened, pushing the fan towards the exit and reportedly delivering a kick as he went down the stairs.
Police Investigation
As of Sunday, March 29th, it remains unknown whether any arrests have been made or police reports filed in connection with the alleged incident.
