White House Marks Holy Week and Easter

The White House is observing Holy Week and Easter with days dedicated to prayer and worship. President Trump is participating in several events to commemorate Easter and emphasize the importance of religious liberty.

President Trump will continue to protect religious freedom, uphold the dignity of life, and support faith in public life,” stated White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers to Fox News Digital. Rogers added, “Millions of Christians will celebrate Jesus Christ conquering death, and the President is proud to join Americans during this blessed holiday.”

White House Easter Lunch and Events

On Wednesday, the President will attend the White House Easter Lunch in the East Room. The event will include worship, prayer, and choral performances by the Free Chapel Choir, led by Pastor Jentezen Franklin on the saxophone.

Attendees and Prayers

Prayers will be offered by Reverend Franklin Graham, Bishop Robert Barron, Pastor Paula White, and others. Notable attendees include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Erika Kirk.

Additional Holy Week Services

White House staff are invited to a Catholic Mass in the Indian Treaty Room on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m., celebrated by Father Frank Mann. On Holy Thursday, another worship service will be held in the same room, featuring Rev. Franklin Graham, Pastor Jentzen Franklin, Pastor Paula White, and White House Faith Office Director Jenny Korn.

Presidential Proclamation and Social Media

President Trump is expected to issue a presidential proclamation honoring Holy Week. Rogers added, “President Trump wishes Christians across America and around the world a very happy Easter. He is risen, indeed!” The President will also share video messages on his Truth Social account celebrating Easter and Passover.

Passover Observance

Passover events will take place next week, with a White House event scheduled for April 6 in the Indian Treaty Room. Edan Alexander, a former hostage of Hamas in Gaza for over 500 days, and his family will be in attendance. Alexander was the last living American hostage released last year.

White House Faith Office

Faith has been a key focus of the administration, including the establishment of a White House Faith Office in February 2025. This office aims to empower faith-based organizations and align policies with American values. It operates under the Domestic Policy Council and consults with faith community experts.
