White House Video Raises Eyebrows
The White House has come under fire for a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) depicting President Donald Trump’s arrival at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday night. The video, posted by the official “Rapid Response 47” account, showed the President and First Lady Melania Trump waving to a seemingly enthusiastic crowd.
Contrasting Accounts from the Kennedy Center
The White House’s depiction of the event contrasts with reports from journalists present at the Kennedy Center. Reagan Reese, a reporter for the Daily Caller, also posted a video from the same angle, but her recording clearly captured more prominent boos and jeers as Trump took his seat.
Journalist Details Discrepancy
“President Trump enters the Kennedy Center to loud cheers. Some boos, but the crowd drowned them out with more cheers,” Reese stated on X. However, she acknowledged that her video revealed a more audible level of dissent than the White House’s version.
Differing Perspectives on Crowd Reaction
MAGA journalist Eric Daugherty offered a different perspective, claiming the crowd “ABSOLUTELY ERUPTED” when Trump and Melania entered. He described the reaction as overwhelmingly positive, stating, “The man of the hour everywhere he goes.”
Trump's Influence on the Kennedy Center
President Trump has significantly altered the Kennedy Center during his second administration. These changes included adding his name to the building’s facade, replacing the bi-partisan board, and revising the programming to align with MAGA-friendly content.
Bezos' Support
Reports indicate that Jeff Bezos has shown considerable support for President Trump, with Amazon, his company, providing financial backing. The President was reportedly “mostly cheered” during the event.
