A new luxury condominium project is set to launch in West Chelsea, Manhattan, offering meticulously designed residences and a tranquil living experience. Architect Thomas Juul-Hansen, known for his thoughtful designs, has created a building that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings.

A Nod to West Chelsea’s Past

The building’s facade will feature hand-laid Italian brick and limestone, paying homage to the area’s industrial past and the historic warehouse buildings. This material choice deliberately contrasts with the modern glass towers increasingly common in the neighborhood. More than 75 percent of the residences will include private outdoor areas, and nearly two-thirds will offer views of the Hudson River.

Juul-Hansen’s design philosophy centers on functionality, informed by his extensive experience designing condominium units throughout New York City. The arrival experience is designed for exclusivity, featuring a secluded motor court and a set-back pedestrian entrance. Greenery will be incorporated throughout the building, fostering a sense of calm.

Residence Details and Timeline

The residences at 550 West 21st Street will range from one- to four-plus bedrooms, with prices starting around $2.5 million and potentially exceeding $30 million. Sales are expected to begin this year, with project completion anticipated in late 2027. This project follows Legion Investment Group’s success with 1122 Madison Avenue, a nearly sold-out 26-unit building on the Upper East Side.
