Versace and Onitsuka Tiger Unveil Collaborative Collection

Versace and Onitsuka Tiger have officially launched their highly anticipated Tai-Chi Sakura sneaker and loafer collection. A new campaign, shot by Frank Lebon, highlights the dynamic collaboration and its focus on movement and physical power.

Tai-Chi Sakura Sneaker Details

The Tai-Chi Sakura sneaker combines on-trend design with iconic details. Key features include the Medusa stud, double stitching along the signature side stripes, and a retro outsole sourced from the Onitsuka Tiger archives.

Materials and Craftsmanship

Each sneaker is crafted using carefully selected Italian materials. A final artisanal wash is applied to the leather, creating a vintage, lived-in feel. Colorways include two-tone metallic leather, suede options in green, blue, and brown, and nappa leather in white, yellow, black, and pink. The sneakers retail for $750.

Loafer Design and Features

Alongside the sneakers, the collaboration features the Tai-Chi Sakura loafer. This penny loafer silhouette is constructed from soft, vegetable-tanned calf leather and treated with hand-applied waxes for added depth and shine.

Unique Details and Pricing

The loafers showcase double stitching on the Onitsuka Tiger stripes and a Medusa stud on the vamp. They are finished with ultra-soft leather soles and are available in Brown/Blue and Brown/White colorways. The Tai-Chi Sakura loafers retail for $995.

Campaign and Early Sightings

The collection, conceived under the creative direction of Dario Vitale, was first previewed earlier this year. Prior to the official release, the shoes were spotted on several notable figures, including “Industry” star Myha’la, Paris Opera principal ballet dancer Guillaume Diop, French actor François Civil, and Chinese actors Chang Huasen and Yu Shuxin.
