Verge Motorcycles Launches Production of TS Pro
Estonian manufacturer Verge Motorcycles has commenced production of the TS Pro, claiming it is the world’s first motorcycle to be powered by an all-solid-state battery. The company unveiled the initial solid-state battery-powered bike at CES 2026 in January, showcasing its potential for rapid charging and long-distance travel.
Solid-State Battery Technology
Developed in collaboration with Finnish startup Donut Lab, the TS Pro’s battery technology details remain largely confidential. However, Verge Motorcycles asserts the bike delivers exceptional range and ultra-fast charging capabilities. Solid-state batteries utilize solid materials instead of liquid or gel electrolytes, enhancing safety, energy density, and lifespan.
Battery Configurations and Performance
Buyers can choose between two TS Pro configurations. The standard version features a 20.2 kWh battery, offering up to 217 miles of range and 100 kW peak charging. A long-range option provides a 33 kWh battery, extending the range to 373 miles and supporting 200 kW peak charging.
Motor and HMI System
The TS Pro is powered by the Donut Motor 2.0, generating 100 kW of peak power and 1,000 Nm of torque. It also features a refined rear-end design. Verge’s in-house HMI system, Starmatter, offers four ride modes and receives continuous improvements through over-the-air updates.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for the TS Pro in the US starts at $29,990 before taxes and fees. The long-range battery option adds an additional $5,000 to the price. A $100 deposit is required to secure a reservation.
Donut Lab Safety Tests
Recent tests conducted by Donut Lab demonstrate the safety and durability of its solid-state battery technology. The battery maintained stable operation even after experiencing structural damage under high-temperature conditions, avoiding thermal runaway, fire risk, or temperature spikes.
Fast Charging Capabilities
Testing revealed the battery can charge from 10% to 50% in approximately 5 minutes and from 10% to 70% in just over 9 minutes, achieving peak charging power exceeding 100 kW. The damaged test cell also completed multiple charge and discharge cycles, including fast charging, without instability.
Delivery Schedule
Verge Motorcycles anticipates deliveries to early reservation holders will begin in the first quarter of the year. New orders are expected to be fulfilled toward the end of the year.
