Utah Joins the Race for Jeovanni Henley

Despite the recent conference realignment, Utah continues to compete with its former Pac-12 rivals for top-tier high school talent. The Utes have officially entered the recruitment mix for Jeovanni Henley, a versatile three-star athlete hailing from Junipero Serra High School in Palo Alto.

Henley announced the news via his X account, expressing gratitude for the offer and tagging Utah safeties coach Derrick Odum. Odum, who is entering his first season on the coaching staff, has identified Henley as a priority target due to his unique skill set.

A Versatile Skill Set

Henley has demonstrated significant playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. During a productive junior season, he recorded:

  • 65 tackles
  • Eight touchdowns
  • Five sacks
  • Two interceptions

These statistics highlight his speed and recognition in the run game, as well as his potential to serve as a gadget wide receiver on offense. His performance has significantly boosted his national recruiting profile.

A Crowded Recruiting Landscape

Utah faces stiff competition for Henley’s signature. Since January, his offer sheet has expanded to include several Power 5 programs, such as:

  • UCLA
  • BYU
  • Penn State
  • Washington
  • Northwestern
  • Minnesota
  • Georgia Tech

The athlete has already scheduled official campus visits with UCLA on June 5, Cal on June 11, and Washington on June 19. Meanwhile, Utah is simultaneously focused on building out its 2027 recruiting class, which currently features one verbal commit from The Oakridge School.
