Goff is the foster son of Ree Drummond, also known as The Pioneer Woman. Incident Details and ArrestThe encounter began outside a campus building near 18th Street South and 5th Avenue South. According to a sworn complaint filed by UAB Police, an officer initially responded to a report of a suspicious person asleep on a bench near a fountain.When questioned, Goff told the officer he was waiting to buy Ice, another name for methamphetamine, according to the documents. Initial database checks returned no record under the details he provided, but the officer later identified Goff through the Law Enforcement Tactical System (LETS) and discovered an active nationwide extraditable felony failure-to-appear warrant.When the officer attempted to take him into custody, Goff allegedly assumed an aggressive stance, pulled away, and ran westbound along 5th Avenue South, court documents state. Officers pursued Goff near the UAB Women & Infants Center and Children’s of Alabama.According to investigators, when an officer attempted to cut off his path near the emergency entrance, Goff hit the uniformed female officer in the chin with an open-handed palm strike. Assisting officers brought him to the ground and deployed pepper spray to subdue and handcuff him.Evidence Recovered and Charges FiledFollowing the arrest, police recovered a discarded backpack, a wallet containing a CashApp card bearing Goff’s name, a glass pipe with burnt residue, and baggies containing suspected methamphetamine that field-tested positive. Additional baggies and suspected methamphetamine were later discovered on his person during booking at the Jefferson County Jail, records show.Goff was medically evaluated and cleared at UAB Hospital before being booked into jail. Court records show he is charged with second-degree assault (assault on a law enforcement officer) with a $15,000 bond, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with a $10,000 bond, attempting to elude a law enforcement officer with a $6,000 bond, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia with a $6,000 bond.
