Trump Responds to Springsteen's Political Remarks
Donald Trump has publicly criticized Bruce Springsteen, calling him a “total loser” and a “dried up prune” in a post on his Truth Social platform. The former president’s remarks came after Springsteen voiced political concerns during the opening night of his new tour.
Springsteen's Comments on 'Dark Times'
During the first leg of his “Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour” in Minneapolis on Tuesday, Springsteen addressed the audience about the current political climate. He stated, “We are living through some very dark times. Our American values that have sustained us for 250 years are being challenged as never before.”
Criticism of Current Leadership
Springsteen further elaborated on his concerns, telling the crowd, “We’ve got our young men and women’s lives at risk in an unconstitutional and illegal war.” He also asserted that the “White House is destroying the American idea and our reputation around the world.”
Trump's Truth Social Response
Trump’s response on Truth Social was strongly worded, accusing Springsteen of having a “horrible and incurable case” of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He also described the musician as a “very boring singer.”
Call for Boycott
Trump urged his supporters within the Make America Great Again movement to boycott Springsteen’s concerts. He did not elaborate on specific reasons beyond his general criticisms of the musician and his political views.
Springsteen also stated, “a leader who says he wishes nothing but ill upon the people he disagrees with, and who disagree with him.” He contrasted this with what he called “The Courageous Center,” emphasizing a focus on facts and challenging ideas.
