My fellow Americans, good evening. Let me begin by congratulating the team at NASA and our brave astronauts on the successful launch of Artemis II, it was quite something. It will be traveling further than any manned rocket has ever flown and will very substantially pass the moon, go around it and come back home from a distance that has never been done before. It’s amazing. They are on the way and God bless them, these are brave people.
Operation Epic Fury: One Month In
As of this evening, one month has passed since the United States military initiated 'Operation Epic Fury,' targeting Iran, which President Trump identified as the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. He stated that in the past four weeks, U.S. armed forces have achieved “swift, decisive, overwhelming victories on the battlefield.”
Devastating Losses for Iran
President Trump detailed the extent of the damage inflicted upon Iran’s military. He reported that Iran’s navy has been eliminated, its air force is in ruins, and most of its leaders have been killed. The command and control structure of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is being dismantled, and their ability to launch missiles and drones has been dramatically reduced. He asserted that these losses are unprecedented in the history of warfare.
Successes Beyond Iran
The President also highlighted the swift and successful operation in Venezuela, stating it was “quick, lethal, violent and respected by everyone all over the world.” He noted a joint venture with Venezuela in oil and gas production, leading to U.S. energy independence.
Preventing a Nuclear Iran
President Trump emphasized that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon has been a central goal since the beginning of his campaign in 2015. He condemned the regime’s 47-year history of anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric and their support for terrorist activities, including the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, attacks on the USS Cole, and the October 7th attacks in Israel. He also cited the regime’s suppression of protests, resulting in the deaths of 45,000 Iranians.
Past Actions Against Iran
The President recounted key actions taken during his previous terms to counter Iran’s nuclear ambitions. These included the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, whom he described as the “father of the roadside bomb,” and the termination of the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal. He criticized the deal as a failure, stating it provided Iran with $1.7 billion in cash and ultimately paved the way for a potential nuclear arsenal.
Operation Midnight Hammer and Current Objectives
President Trump described 'Operation Midnight Hammer,' a strike on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, as a complete success. Despite this, Iran attempted to rebuild its nuclear program, prompting further action. The current objectives of 'Operation Epic Fury' are to dismantle Iran’s ability to threaten America and exert power beyond its borders, specifically by eliminating its navy, crippling its air force and missile program, and destroying its defense industrial base.
Sacrifice and Alliances
The President honored the 13 American service members who have died in the conflict, stating their families urged him to “finish the job.” He also thanked U.S. allies in the Middle East – Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain – for their support.
Gasoline Prices and Economic Strength
Addressing concerns about rising gasoline prices, President Trump attributed the increase to Iranian attacks on commercial oil tankers. He asserted that the U.S. economy is the strongest in history, having recovered from a “dead and crippled” state, and is well-positioned to confront this threat.
