Deadly Domestic Incident Rocks Kearns Neighborhood

A serious incident involving domestic violence unfolded in Kearns on Monday night, leading to the death of two individuals and injuries to two others. Unified Police were dispatched to a residence located near 5900 South and 4100 West around 10:30 p.m. Officers were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance where a weapon was potentially involved.

Officers Arrive Amid Gunfire

As law enforcement reached the location, they immediately heard gunshots originating from within the home. Shortly after, two adults emerged from the residence, informing officers that they had sustained gunshot wounds.

These two individuals were rushed to a local hospital. Unified Police Sgt. Aymee Race confirmed on Tuesday that both victims remained hospitalized but were in stable condition.

Discovery Inside the Residence

Following the emergence of the injured parties, officers proceeded to enter the home. Inside, they discovered two additional adults who were deceased at the scene. Sgt. Race indicated that both deceased individuals appeared to have been shot.

Investigation Status and Public Safety

As of Tuesday morning, police had not released the identities of any of the four victims involved in the shooting. Detectives were also withholding information regarding whether all parties were related to one another.

Sgt. Race characterized the event as an "isolated incident," assuring the public that there is no continuing threat to the community. Further details are anticipated following the completion of autopsies, possibly by Tuesday afternoon.
