Toronto police seek person of interest in abduction of Somerda Miclescu and three children Toronto police are searching for 22-year-old Somerda Miclescu, who allegedly abducted her three children during a supervised visit in Scarborough, and have named 25-year-old Ionut Stroe as a person of interest. Toronto police are asking the public to help find a missing mother and her three children and have named a person of interest in the alleged abduction. Inspector Jeff Allington told reporters Saturday that officers responded to a parental abduction call in Scarborough just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20, in the area of Midland and Eglinton avenues. According to police, 22-year-old Somerda Miclescu was having a semi-supervised visit with her children at a relative's home when she took them. The three children have been missing since. The children are 4-month-old Anastasia, 3-year-old Irina, and 6-year-old Daniel.Police Identify Person Of InterestPolice said Miclescu does not have custody of her children and her location is unknown. In a Saturday news conference, Allington said investigators are actively searching for Miclescu and her children and are following up on every lead. Those leads include the suspect vehicle, a 2017 white Ford Expedition with Ontario license plate DJS 875, and its owner, identified by police as 25-year-old Ionut Stroe.Stroe is also wanted by police on unrelated matters and is currently a person of interest in this abduction because his vehicle is believed to have been used in the abduction. Stroe is described as standing five-foot-11, weighing around 235 pounds with a tattoo on his right forearm. He is also being sought by police for failing to comply with a release order.Allington said investigators do not believe the situation currently meets the threshold for an Amber Alert and they have no information to suggest Miclescu might harm her children in any way. We have got no information right now to suggest that she is trying to leave the province or the country, he added. Police are asking anyone who spots Miclescu, her three children, Stroe or the suspect vehicle to call 911.Description Of Missing Mother ProvidedInvestigators are currently in touch with other family members, Allington said. Miclescu is described as standing five-foot-seven, weighing 180 pounds, with long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a long black shirt and a dark-coloured top. Police are continuing to ask the public to be aware and keep an eye out for the missing children, the suspect vehicle, and the suspect, their mother, Somerda. The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact Toronto police or call 911.
