Three women faced arrest at Miami International Airport following an incident involving an unpaid carry-on bag on a Frontier Airlines flight. Authorities reported that Nafisa Dockery, Davana Cochran, and Dionjana Cochran allegedly boarded the plane bound for Philadelphia without paying the required fee for a second carry-on item.
Pre-Flight Confrontation Over Baggage Fees
The issue arose during check-in on Sunday, March 29, when the trio presented two carry-on bags but had only paid for one, according to reports obtained by WTVJ.
A verbal dispute erupted after a Frontier employee informed the women they needed to pay for the additional luggage. The employee explicitly warned Dockery (age 30), Davana (age 26), and Dionjana (age 21) that boarding would be denied without payment.
Rushing the Aircraft and Refusal to Comply
According to the arrest report cited by People, Dockery reportedly told the others, “We don’t have to listen, let’s just go.” Subsequently, the three women allegedly entered a “clearly marked restricted area” and “rushed onto the aircraft.”
Once aboard the plane, the women reportedly refused to deplane when Miami-Dade County sheriff’s deputies arrived and instructed them to exit. Their boarding passes were subsequently deactivated.
Evacuation and Arrests
The situation escalated as deputies ultimately ordered the evacuation of all passengers from the Frontier flight, as reported by WPLG.
While exiting the aircraft, Dockery allegedly “spat on” an airline employee. Furthermore, Dockery, Davana, and Dionjana reportedly engaged in a “brief struggle” with deputies during their apprehension.
Charges Filed and Flight Delay
Court records reviewed by Us Weekly indicate that Dockery faces charges including battery, trespassing, and resisting an officer without violence. Davana and Dionjana were each charged with trespassing and resisting an officer without violence.
The three women were booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami early Monday, March 30. The incident caused a delay of approximately one hour for the passengers scheduled to fly from Miami to Philadelphia.
Public defenders were appointed for all three individuals, though their names were not immediately listed in court records as of Tuesday, March 31.
