‘The Boys’ Final Season Promises Intense Action

After dominating Prime Video’s streaming charts for nearly a decade, The Boys is gearing up for its final showdown in Season 5. Stars Jack Quaid and Karl Urban recently discussed what fans can expect from the fifth and final season with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, confirming creator Eric Kripke’s warning: “no one is safe.”

Team Reunites for One Last Mission

At the end of Season 4, the core team was scattered. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie were sent to a “Freedom Camp,” Annie was tasked with building resistance against Homelander’s growing Supe force, and Billy Butcher embarked on a mission involving a Supe-killing virus. However, Urban confirmed that fans will see the team reunited.

“It’s really kind of the first time since Season 1 or 2 that all the boys are together, just going out there on missions, taking down Supes,” Urban stated.

Urban Reflects on a Cherished Autograph

During the interview, the conversation shifted to personal anecdotes. Urban shared a story about meeting Carrie Fisher at a convention. He recounted how she signed a Princess Leia photograph for him, adding a playful message: “Hey, Karl, if you're looking for a good time, call Space Chick at 555…” He has treasured the memento ever since.

Scripts Deliver Emotional Impact

Quaid shared his reaction to reading the Season 5 scripts, expressing confidence in the ending crafted by Eric Kripke and the writers. He described the experience of reading the scripts as becoming a fan of the show again, reacting to the twists and turns in real-time.

“The stuff that really hit the most was, I mean, as Eric has said, no character is safe, and that’s very true,” Quaid explained. “I would get to a point in the script where a character meets their fate, and it would really hit hard, because we’ve been a part of the show, we know these characters very well.”

Episodes 7 & 8 Highlighted as Emotional Core

Urban highlighted Episodes 7 and 8 as the emotional heart of the season, expressing gratitude to fans who have followed the show’s journey. He also mentioned that Amazon has plans for a special series finale event.

Updates on ‘Mortal Kombat II’ and ‘My Adventures with Superman’

The conversation also touched on other projects. Karl Urban discussed Mortal Kombat II, calling it “the film fans have been asking for” and praising its action and faithfulness to the game. He believes it’s the best Mortal Kombat adaptation to date.

Jack Quaid shared exciting news about Season 3 of My Adventures with Superman, confirming its upcoming release and teasing that it might be his favorite season yet, praising its humor and standalone episodes.

The Boys Season 5 is set to debut on Prime Video on April 8, with new episodes released every Wednesday.
