Investigation Into Texas School Shooting
A 15-year-old student who opened fire on a teacher at a Texas high school on Monday was reportedly facing significant academic challenges. Following the shooting, the student died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident occurred at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, located approximately 27 miles north of San Antonio. The teacher involved in the shooting remained hospitalized as of Tuesday, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the student utilized a .357 revolver brought from his home to commit the act. In the wake of the shooting, detectives executed a search warrant at the student's residence.
During the search, authorities seized several electronic devices. These items are currently undergoing forensic examination as investigators attempt to determine the student’s specific motives and the circumstances surrounding the event.
Academic Struggles and Ongoing Inquiries
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office stated that the student was experiencing academic difficulties, including failing several classes. Sheriff Mark Reynolds noted during a Monday news conference that investigators are working to confirm if the teen was a current student of the teacher he targeted.
The high school remained closed on Tuesday as the investigation continues. Authorities have not yet released the names of the student or the teacher involved.
