Three firefighters in the North Dallas suburbs were arrested Thursday on multiple child sex abuse charges involving a single juvenile victim, according to court documents.
Arrests and Charges
The men, all affiliated with the Howe Fire Department in Grayson County, have been identified as David Yosimar Perez-Glass, Dalton Joe McCaslin, and Joshua Todd Ryals. They face multiple felony counts of sexual assault of a child or indecency with a child involving sexual contact.
Details of the Alleged Abuse
The alleged abuse targeted a 16-year-old junior firefighter who began volunteering with the department in January 2022. Court documents detail a pattern of harassment and escalating behavior.
David Yosimar Perez-Glass
David Yosimar Perez-Glass allegedly began harassing the victim within her first month of volunteering. The harassment reportedly escalated to physical contact, including hugging, grabbing, and forcibly throwing her onto a sofa. The victim stated that despite repeatedly expressing her discomfort and stating she was a virgin, Perez-Glass allegedly assaulted her more than 20 times orally and engaged in sexual intercourse with her less than 10 times over the course of a year.
Dalton Joe McCaslin
Dalton Joe McCaslin allegedly engaged in a “consensual” sexual relationship with the girl beginning in December 2022. He is also accused of repeatedly threatening her with rape, murder, and harm to her parents if she reported their interactions.
Joshua Todd Ryals
Joshua Todd Ryals allegedly admitted to inappropriate contact with the victim while alone at the Howe Fire Station, according to court documents. Ryals resigned from the Melissa Fire Department the week before his arrest.
Awards and Recognition
During the period the alleged abuse occurred, Perez-Glass was named Firefighter of the Year by the Howe Fire Department and promoted to lieutenant. Ryals was honored as Paramedic of the Year by the Melissa Fire Department on March 16.
Further Investigation
The investigation remains ongoing. Perez-Glass and McCaslin each face three counts of sexual assault of a child, while Ryals was charged with two counts of indecency with a child involving sexual contact.
