Teenager Rescued After Four-Year Abduction by Pedophile in Multi-State Kidnapping Case A 19-year-old woman who went missing at age 15 was rescued in Virginia after being abducted by a pedophile who met her on Facebook when she was 12. The suspect is facing multiple charges in Virginia and Wisconsin, with federal investigations ongoing. Joniah Walker, now 19, was rescued in Blacksburg, Virginia, on May 23, four years after she vanished from her Wisconsin home. An investigation revealed that she had been abducted by Owen Lars Anderson, a 37-year-old pedophile she met on Facebook when she was just 12 years old. The pair had been communicating for three years before Anderson convinced her to meet in person at a movie theater in Chicago when she was 15. He arranged for an Uber to pick her up from her family's home in Milwaukee and then kidnapped her, disposing of her cell phone and a burner phone he had given her earlier.Walker was reportedly subjected to sexual and physical abuse at Anderson's home in the small Virginian mountain town of Blacksburg since her abduction. According to the criminal complaint, Anderson lured her with promises of a better life, claiming he would never hit or scream at her and would provide ample food and care. Walker, who had been struggling with alleged abuse at home, was persuaded to leave with him.Once she arrived, Anderson forced her to reset her iPhone and dispose of it, along with the burner phone, in a trash can in Chicago. Neighbors' Ring doorbell footage captured Walker leaving the area around 2.30 PM on June 23, 2022, carrying a large green camping backpack. During her captivity, Walker said she was sexually, physically, and verbally abused, forced to perform sexual acts on camera, and threatened with exposure if she did not comply.Anderson also forbade her from attending school. When police responded to a domestic disturbance call at Anderson's home on May 23, Walker revealed she had been missing since she was 15. She explained how Anderson had manipulated her into leaving home under false pretenses. Anderson was arrested on May 27 and found in possession of two Glocks, 14 loaded magazines, several knives, and three cans of pepper spray.A subsequent search of his home yielded electronic devices, flash drives, journals, and other evidence. He faces charges including kidnapping, child enticement, abduction, child sexual abuse material possession, strangulation, child abuse, and preventing a 911 call. Federal charges are also possible, as the FBI is involved in examining digital evidence. Walker's mother, Tanesha Howard, had long believed someone had lured her daughter away.Anderson is currently being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond, awaiting extradition to Wisconsin to face additional charges. Officials have indicated that the charges in Montgomery County could be absorbed into a potential federal case
