'Orange Is the New Black' Star Taryn Manning Filmed in Altercation

Actress Taryn Manning, 47, was recently captured on video engaged in a volatile argument with her longtime companion, Holly Hartman, in Palm Springs, California. The clip, obtained by TMZ, showed the 'Orange Is The New Black' star verbally and physically confronting Hartman.

During the confrontation, Manning was heard yelling, "Look what you’ve done to my f---ing studio!" before threatening to involve law enforcement. Hartman retorted, "Call the police... I'll show them you attacked me." Manning accused Hartman of trespassing, stating, "You're squatting in my studio... Let the cops come in here and see what you've done."

Escalation and Immediate Aftermath

The exchange escalated when Manning appeared to kick an object toward Hartman and then lunged at her. Hartman responded to the movement by saying, "Yeah, get violent," as Manning reportedly laughed erratically. Representatives for Manning did not immediately provide comment to Fox News Digital regarding the incident.

Taryn Manning Addresses Video on Instagram

On Tuesday, Manning took to Instagram to address the widely circulated footage. She stated she did not want to watch the video because she does not want to upset herself, emphasizing that "violence is never, ever good."

Manning claimed that significant context was missing from the published clip. She alleged that Hartman had previously bashed her windshield, slashed her tires, and gone to the Daily Mail about her, describing these actions as the "most aggressive, violent attack."

Manning Details Relationship Dynamics

The actress clarified Hartman's living situation, stating, "She's living in my office because she's homeless." Manning expressed that she had been trying to help the 36-year-old for 18 years. She further claimed that another individual had recently "beat the crap" out of her, resulting in a lost tooth.

Manning lamented the public perception, saying, "I look like this one-sided violent person... It's just sad." She questioned why she had to house the individual, clarifying, "She's not my family, she's not my girlfriend, she's not my wife. Why do I have to house this random girl who was a fan who I befriended?"

Direct Message to Holly Hartman

In a separate Instagram video posted the same day, Manning addressed Hartman directly, labeling her a "bona fide criminal." Manning expressed disappointment, noting she had hoped Hartman would have matured after knowing her since she was 18.

Manning continued, "You know exactly what you've done to me... If you want to put me in jail, you know I'm going to walk with my head held high." She accused Hartman of creating a distraction, adding, "You're the one causing problems... Here we go again. Go away, dude … you're not OK anymore, that's why you live in my office because you're homeless."

History of Legal Disputes Between the Two

The relationship between Manning and Hartman has a documented history involving alleged violence. In 2016, Hartman sought a restraining order against Manning following an alleged physical altercation, according to TMZ.

Hartman's 2016 claims included allegations that Manning headbutted her, "whipped me with a wet towel," sprayed Windex in her eyes and mouth, and put her in a headlock cutting off air. Manning allegedly told Hartman at that time, "Pick a knife. I’m wearing a white shirt. There will be a lot of blood. You will be famous for killing Taryn Manning." The restraining order was ultimately denied because the filing location did not match the alleged incident location.

Furthermore, four years prior to 2016, Manning was arrested in New York City for allegedly attacking Hartman. Manning faced two misdemeanor charges related to that incident, which were subsequently dropped.
