After multiple cancellations, Moore's dedication has saved the show, which is now set to premiere on Starz next week. In this new installment, Hondo leads a unit of compromised recruits in a high-stakes adventure. It's been a rough couple of years for S.W. A.T. fans, but things are finally going to turn around when the franchise returns in just one week with a brand-new release. If it wasn't for Shemar Moore, S.W. A.T. probably would have been done and dusted years ago, but his commitment to continue playing Daniel Hondo for the fans is unrivaled. Over the years, S.W. A.T. has been canceled several times by various streamers and networks, but one strong push from Moore was usually enough to get the show back on its feet.That was, at least, until last year, when S.W. A.T. was officially canceled after eight seasons. The only way to watch all eight seasons now is on Netflix. Last year in May, Sony announced it was working with Shemar Moore to develop a new S.W.A.T. series, S.W. A.T. Exiles, which has since been retitled SWAT Exiles. Moore is set to return in the new series, in which he will reprise his role as Hondo, playing a SWAT team veteran who is pulled out of retirement to lead a last-chance unit of compromised and untested recruits.After a lengthy bidding war, SWAT Exiles finally landed at Starz earlier this year in June, and now the franchise is finally set to return next week. The first episode of SWAT Exiles is set to begin streaming on Starz next Friday, September 25, and it's not being dropped as a binge. New episodes of the 10-episode first season will be released every Friday on Starz until the Season 1 finale
