A supply teacher in Greater Manchester has been charged with multiple child sex offences after allegedly taking secret photographs up teenage girls’ skirts while working at several schools. Abusali Rahman, 36, who taught English, was arrested in June 2025 following a complaint from a parent about an image of their child in school uniform being shared on social media. The subsequent investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team revealed that Rahman allegedly targeted 13 girls aged between 13 and 16 across seven high schools in Bury, Bolton, and Salford over an 18-month period.The offences, which include upskirting and voyeurism, are said to have occurred between December 2023 and June 2025. While all identified victims and their families have been notified, police are still trying to trace four additional girls whose images were found during the investigation. Rahman, a British national of Bangladeshi descent from Salford, became a qualified teacher in 2023. He was remanded in custody after appearing in court in April 2026, facing 21 charges.The schools where he worked have been contacted, and safeguarding teams are providing support to affected families. Detective Chief Superintendent Rebecca McKendrick emphasized that parents whose children were not identified as victims do not need to be concerned. She urged the public to avoid speculation and report any relevant information directly to the police.
