Amanda Batula and West Wilson, stars of Bravo’s Summer House, have confirmed their romantic relationship following weeks of speculation. The confirmation comes during a tumultuous time for Batula, who recently separated from her husband, Kyle Cooke, and adds another layer of complexity to the show’s already intricate relationship dynamics.
Relationship Confirmed After Speculation
On Tuesday, March 31, Batula and Wilson released a joint statement addressing the rumors. “We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” the statement read, shared via Instagram Stories.
They explained the need for privacy given the circumstances. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it. We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they continued. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Complex Relationship History
Summer House has prominently featured Batula’s relationship with Kyle Cooke since the show’s debut in 2017. The couple married in September 2021, but Batula announced their separation in January. Wilson previously dated Ciara Miller, a close friend of Batula and a fellow cast member.
Currently airing episodes show Batula encouraging Wilson and Miller’s potential reconciliation. Wilson and Miller began dating offscreen in the fall, but ended their relationship in the new year. Wilson later expressed regret over how he handled the reunion, stating he said “the wrong things.”
Initial Rumors and Reactions
Speculation about Batula and Wilson’s romance began on March 5 with a post on DeuxMoi alleging they were “openly flirty” and “holding hands.” A fan also noticed Batula wearing a hoodie identical to one Wilson had previously worn. Following the announcement, Ciara Miller unfollowed both Batula and Wilson on Instagram.
Flower by Edie Parker, a cannabis brand Batula has worked with, removed campaign images featuring her from their Instagram. Jon Hamm publicly declared his support for Miller on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Previous Statements and Support
Prior to the confirmation, Batula and Wilson downplayed the rumors. Batula stated on the Trading Secrets podcast on March 9 that she wouldn’t date any of her castmates. Cooke called the speculation “outrageous” and “shocking” on March 10 during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Batula praised Miller’s friendship during a recent interview with Marie Claire, calling her a “kindest, most loving, loyal friend.” She also acknowledged Wilson’s support, describing him as “authentic” and “supportive.”
What's Next for the Cast
The Summer House reunion has yet to be filmed, but Bravo may revisit filming given the dramatic developments. Both Cooke and Batula are slated to appear in the Summer House spinoff, In the City. There has also been speculation that Ciara Miller could be a candidate for The Bachelorette.
