Cooper Frampton Earns Player of the Week Honors

St. Luke’s junior pitcher Cooper Frampton has been recognized as ‘Beyond the Gridiron’ Player of the Week, sponsored by Rich’s Car Wash. Frampton’s outstanding performance on the mound led to an 11-0 victory over Clark County.

Dominant No-Hitter Performance

The right-handed pitcher threw a complete no-hitter, striking out 13 batters in just five innings. He faced a mere 16 batters during the game, showcasing his exceptional control and skill.

Milestone Victory for Coach Szymanski

Frampton’s stellar outing also coincided with a significant milestone for his head coach, Mike Szymanski. The win marked Szymanski’s 700th career victory.

Frampton Reflects on the Win

“I knew that it was a special game, and I just had to go out there and win it for him,” Frampton said. He added that his fastball and slider were particularly effective, allowing him to work quickly and secure the win for his coach.

Coach Szymanski Praises Frampton’s Performance

“It was just lights out,” Szymanski commented on Frampton’s performance. “Anytime you got a pitcher out there dominating, there’s a whole lot less pressure on the defense.” Szymanski also highlighted Frampton’s contributions beyond pitching, noting his skills in hitting and defense.

Commitment to Hard Work

Frampton emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work in achieving success. “I feel like hard work pays off,” he stated. “You have to want to be good, and you have to want to be the best.”
