A group of suspected shoplifters confronted a Lidl employee and a security guard outside the supermarket on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park on Tuesday night. The altercation quickly escalated into a brawl ,with the guard chased outside and surrounded by five attackers before paramedics treated minor injuries.

Metropolitan Police officers arrived at the scene at approximately 9:12 pm after a 101 call reported an assault on a staff member in his 30s and a security guard in his 20s. A Met spokesperson confirmed that officers , alongside the London Ambulance Service, treated the two victims for minor injuries before beginning an investigation .
Five Hooded Men Pursue Guard Outside the Store
Footage captured by a bystander shows the security guard initially holding a hooded suspect while two other men threw punches at the employee... The guard then chased the assailants out of the doorway, only to be encircled by all five men who hurled punches and bottles,prompting a passerby to plead for calm.

The police have issued a public appeal, asking anyone with details to contact 101 and quote reference CAD 8067/09JUN, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111. No arrests have been made, and investigators are still trying to identify the five individuals involved.
