Search Operation in Dimond Park

Authorities and volunteers gathered in Oakland's Dimond Park on Tuesday morning to conduct a search for Amy Hillyard, a local business owner who has been missing since last Wednesday. Hillyard, the co-owner of Farley's Coffee, was last seen leaving her residence in the Cleveland Heights neighborhood at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Coordinated Response Efforts

The search operation, which commenced at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, involves approximately 60 personnel from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. Additionally, mutual aid teams from both Contra Costa and Marin counties have been deployed to assist in the search efforts. Officials have classified Hillyard as at-risk due to a pre-existing medical condition.

Community Impact and Support

As the co-owner of Farley’s Coffee, with established locations in Oakland and San Francisco’s Potrero Hill, Hillyard is a prominent figure in the local community. Friends and supporters have highlighted her role as a unifying force within the neighborhood.

During a vigil held on Sunday, friend Serena Khaira spoke about Hillyard's character. "She’s the kind of person that collects people, brings people together," Khaira stated. "When you have a problem, she’s generally the first person you reach out to."
