The threatening notices state that failure to contract with a private waste hauling service will result in the city imposing a fine of $250 every two weeks. The property owner questions the necessity of this mandate for an empty piece of land.

The resident, who is 77 years old, expressed dismay over the city's actions. They rhetorically asked, "Can you see trash cans in the middle of a vacant lot?" The owner feels the city is spending time harassing them over property that generates no residential waste.

Frustration with City Communication

Attempts to resolve the issue through official channels have reportedly been met with silence. The owner stated they have called the department twice, leaving messages that went unanswered.

Further communication efforts, including emails from the owner and a formal appeal filed by their lawyer, have also yielded no response. When the lawyer attempted an in-person visit to the department's offices, they were informed that walk-ins were not permitted.
