Details of the Incident and Arrest

Police reports indicate that Morgan confronted Richards regarding allegedly stolen items, leading to a physical altercation and Morgan’s subsequent death. Morgan was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Medical Campus shortly after arriving. At the time of her arrest, Richards was also wanted on two outstanding felony warrants.

One warrant originated from Sangamon County, Illinois, for burglary and home invasion causing injury. The other was from Polk County, Florida, for burglary with assault and battery. The jury’s acquittal signifies they found insufficient evidence to prove Richards’ guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
