Rams Receiver Puka Nacua in Rehab

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is currently undergoing treatment in a rehabilitation facility. His attorney confirmed that Nacua voluntarily entered rehab before a lawsuit alleging assault and battery was filed against him.

Details of the Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed late last month, claims that Nacua made an antisemitic statement and bit a woman on the shoulder on New Year's Eve. According to the accuser, the incident occurred during a social gathering.

Rehab Was Pre-Planned, Attorney States

Attorney Levi McCathern told The California Post that Nacua’s decision to seek treatment was not a reaction to the lawsuit. “He was in a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke ... and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer,” McCathern stated.

Focus on Personal Improvement

McCathern further explained that Nacua entered rehab “to improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life.” The attorney emphasized that the treatment plan was proactive and aimed at personal growth.

Previous Apology for Gesture

This situation follows an apology issued by Nacua last December. He apologized for performing a gesture during an internet livestream that was perceived as referencing antisemitic tropes.

Nacua's NFL Career

Drafted by the Rams in the fifth round out of BYU in 2023, Nacua has quickly become a key player for the team. He led the NFL with 129 receptions last season, accumulating 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns over his first three seasons.
