Puka Nacua Currently in Rehab
Los Angeles Rams All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua is currently undergoing treatment in a rehabilitation facility. According to his attorney, Levi McCathern, Nacua began the program before a lawsuit alleging assault and battery was filed against him.
Details of the Lawsuit
The lawsuit, filed late last month, claims Nacua made an antisemitic statement and bit a woman on the shoulder on New Year's Eve. The alleged incident occurred during a New Year's Eve event.
Rehab Not Linked to Lawsuit, Attorney Claims
McCathern told The California Post that Nacua’s decision to enter rehab was not a reaction to the lawsuit. He stated the wide receiver is “scheduled to be there for a while longer” and is focused on “improving his overall behavior in every aspect of his life.”
Previous Apology for Antisemitic Gesture
This situation follows an apology Nacua issued in December after performing a gesture during an internet livestream that referenced antisemitic tropes. He publicly apologized for the gesture at that time.
Nacua's NFL Career
Drafted by the Rams in the fifth round out of BYU in 2023, Nacua has quickly become a key player for the team. He led the NFL with 129 receptions last season, accumulating 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Contract Extension Eligibility
Nacua is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams during the current offseason. His performance has positioned him for potential long-term commitment from the team.
