Rams Wide Receiver Puka Nacua in Rehab

Los Angeles Rams All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua was undergoing treatment in a rehabilitation facility before being named in an assault and battery lawsuit, according to his attorney.

Details of the Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed late last month, alleges that Nacua made an antisemitic statement and bit a woman on the shoulder on New Year’s Eve. Attorney Levi McCathern confirmed these details to The California Post.

Rehab Not Linked to Lawsuit

McCathern stated that Nacua’s decision to enter rehab was not a direct response to the lawsuit. He described the move as an effort “to improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life.”

“He was in a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke … and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer,” McCathern told the newspaper.

Previous Apology

This is not the first instance of controversy surrounding Nacua. He previously issued an apology in December after making a gesture during an internet livestream that referenced antisemitic tropes.

Nacua's NFL Career

Drafted by the Rams in the fifth round out of BYU in 2023, Nacua has quickly become a standout player in the NFL. He led the league with 129 receptions last season, accumulating 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Contract Extension Eligibility

Nacua is currently eligible to sign a contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams during the current offseason.
