3-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in Philadelphia Shooting

A three-year-old boy is currently in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head in Philadelphia overnight. The incident occurred on the 2100 block of S. 26th St. in the city’s Greys Ferry neighborhood.

Details of the Incident

According to police reports, the shooting took place on the second floor of a residence. The child was transported to a nearby hospital by family members immediately following the incident. His condition remains critical as of this reporting.

Investigation Underway

Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting may have been accidental, though authorities are continuing to investigate. A firearm was not recovered at the scene; however, a magazine was found.

Conflicting Accounts and Questioning

Several individuals, including teenagers, were present inside the home at the time of the shooting. Police reported receiving conflicting and uncooperative statements from those present.

Five individuals were subsequently taken to police headquarters for further questioning. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
