Keefer, a graduate of Johnson High School, expressed his comfort with the course, noting his familiarity with the green reads and tee shots. He is enjoying the support of family and friends, stating, “Everyone just being out here…they’re out here cheering me on, it’s really, really an awesome thing.” He is even staying at home with his parents during the tournament.

Strong Start to Rookie Season

In his rookie season, Keefer has made five cuts in eight starts and currently ranks No. 60 in the FedExCup standings. He recently achieved his best finish, tying for third at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. He has also earned an invitation to the Masters Tournament.

Momentum Heading to Augusta

Looking Ahead to the Masters

Keefer emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum. “To have the momentum, I think is big,” he said. He added that he focused on playing well leading up to the Masters, regardless of his qualification status, and that his performance last week provides a positive boost.

Valero Texas Open and Masters Qualification

The Valero Texas Open offers a significant opportunity for players, potentially providing the winner with a final qualifying spot for the Masters Tournament if they are not already exempt.
