Palm Beach International Airport is officially cleared to adopt a new name honoring the former president. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill authorizing the change, which will formally rebrand the facility as the President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
Airport Renaming Set for July
This rebranding will take effect in July. The airport is situated near President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida. This follows a recent local designation where a road leading from the airport to the estate was renamed Donald J. Trump Boulevard.
Presidential Library Design Revealed
On the same Monday, hours before the airport news, President Trump shared digital renderings of his planned Miami skyscraper presidential library via social media. The video featured dramatic music while showcasing the proposed tower design.
The renderings depict a striking tower intended to pierce the Miami skyline, prominently featuring the signature “Trump” lettering seen on his other properties. The design firm credited for the work is the Miami-based company, Bermello Ajamil.
Inside the Proposed Library Tower
The visual presentation included various interior and exterior views of the structure. Notable features shown were a presidential jet parked inside the lobby area.
Other elements highlighted included a gold escalator, reminiscent of one Trump used in 2015. The design also incorporates a large ballroom, similar to one planned for the White House, a replica of the Oval Office, rooftop gardens, and a large, gold statue of Trump.
Trump posted the video with no accompanying explanation, only providing a link to a new website for the library. The website currently states “coming soon” and includes an option for donations.
Real Estate Secured for Library Project
The planned library site involves a nearly 3-acre plot of downtown real estate, which was gifted for the future institution. This land is valued at over $67 million.
This gift had faced a legal challenge, but a judge dismissed the complaint in December. The challenge was based on claims that the college’s board had failed to provide adequate public notice regarding the land transfer. Eric Trump previously described the future library as set to become “one of the most beautiful buildings ever built” and “an Icon on the Miami skyline.”
