The Ottawa Charge will play 13 games at Canadian Tire Centre during the 2026-27 Professional Women’s Hockey League season, beginning with the home opener on Sunday, Dec. 6 against the Toronto Sceptres. The PWHL released its expanded schedule on Friday, featuring a record 180 games from Saturday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, April 18. The league will introduce Eastern and Western Conferences for its 12 teams and an eight-team playoff format to determine the Walter Cup champion. New Conference and Playoff FormatThe Charge will compete in the Eastern Conference alongside the Boston Fleet, PWHL Hamilton, Montreal Victorie, New York Sirens and Toronto Sceptres. Each team will play 30 regular-season games, including 18 within its conference. According to the PWHL, every team will visit each PWHL city at least once. The expanded playoff format will see eight teams qualify for the postseason, up from the previous format.Charge Home Schedule HighlightsOttawa’s home slate at Canadian Tire Centre includes a three-game stand between Jan. 17 and Jan. 27. The club will also play five of its final six games at home, a point emphasized by head coach Carla MacLeod. She said the opportunity to finish with six of the final eight games at Canadian Tire Centre is especially exciting and that the team wants to make the arena a place players love playing and opponents hate visiting.MacLeod added that after back-to-back trips to the Walter Cup Finals, the group understands how hard it is to get there and has unfinished business. Five of the 13 home games will be played on a Saturday or Sunday. The Charge will face Montreal four times, including two at home, and will also meet expansion PWHL Hamilton and the New York Sirens four times each.
