Ole Miss Rebels defensive lineman Jordan Renaud is anticipated to be sidelined for the commencement of Spring Camp, according to reports from Ole Miss 365. Renaud joined the Rebels this offseason after transferring from the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he was a member of the 2023 Recruiting Class.
Highly Touted Transfer Joins Ole Miss
A Coveted Recruit in 2023
As a Top-15 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, Renaud selected Alabama over several prominent programs. These included the Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas A&M Aggies, among others.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defender brings versatility to the trenches. He previously played an integral role for Alabama, appearing in 15 games during the 2025 season, which included three starts.
2025 Season Production
During his time with the Crimson Tide, Renaud accumulated a career-high 18 tackles. He also recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss, with much of his production occurring in the postseason after earning a starting role.
Impact on Ole Miss Defensive Line
Renaud’s move to Oxford is intended to bolster the defensive line, especially following the offseason departure of Princewill Umanmielen to the LSU Tigers. However, his start with the Ole Miss program will be delayed.
Ole Miss 365 previously noted that Renaud had not yet arrived on campus. The latest update confirms he is now in Mississippi but will miss the beginning of the camp sessions.
Coaches' Expectations
Alabama defensive tackle Tim Keenan had previously commented on Renaud’s development during the preseason. Keenan stated, “He’s in that flow state now, I feel like. Getting to the point where he’s comfortable in his role. He knows what he has to do, so he can go play fast and violent the way he needs to.”
Renaud enters Ole Miss as a redshirt-junior, having spent three seasons with Alabama across the 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons. Attention now turns to his potential production in Oxford under the direction of Pete Golding and his staff.
Spring Camp Kicks Off
Ole Miss officially commenced Spring Camp on Friday. This upcoming month is crucial for the program's development, particularly after adding more than 30 players through the Transfer Portal this offseason.
