Oklahoma defeated former Big 12 rival Colorado 90-86 in overtime on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Crown, held in Las Vegas. This win marks coach Porter Moser’s second postseason victory during his five-year tenure at Oklahoma.
Second-Half Surge and a Dramatic Finish
The Sooners improved to 20-15 on the 2025-26 season with the victory, building on their previous 19-15 record before entering the Crown tournament. Colorado concluded its season with a 17-16 record following the loss.
Oklahoma gained momentum in the second half after trailing by four at halftime and facing an eight-point deficit early in the period. They chipped away at Colorado’s lead, eventually taking control.
Colorado's Late Run Forces Overtime
OU held the Buffaloes to 12 consecutive missed field goals and established a seven-point lead with 1:41 remaining. However, Colorado responded with seven unanswered points to tie the game.
A 3-pointer by Oklahoma put them ahead 74-67, but the Sooners then went scoreless until the end of regulation. Colorado’s Hargress made two free throws and a game-tying layup, sending the game into overtime.
Overtime Victory and Key Performances
Oklahoma outscored Colorado 16-12 in the overtime period. Pack added four points, while Atak made a crucial pair of free throws to give OU an 86-85 lead with 32 seconds left.
Oklahoma’s defense forced a stop on Colorado’s next possession, and Atak extended the lead to three with two more free throws. After a foul by Davis, Hargress made only one of two free throws.
Brown sealed the victory with two successful free throws.

Pack led the Sooners with a team-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-18 from the field. Four Oklahoma players – Pack, Davis, Brown, and Atak – each scored over 16 points.
Looking Ahead to the Semifinals
Oklahoma will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between Minnesota and Baylor in the semifinals on Saturday, with a scheduled tipoff time of 12:30 p.m. Minnesota finished the season 15-17 overall and 8-12 in Big Ten play. Baylor, the 2021 national champion, ended with a 16-16 record and a 6-12 mark in the Big 12.
Financial Rewards
As a quarterfinal winner, Oklahoma will receive $50,000. Semifinal winners are guaranteed at least $100,000, and the tournament champion will earn a $300,000 name-image-likeness cash prize. The other quarterfinal matchups feature West Virginia, Stanford, Rutgers, and Creighton.
