Fatal Encounter in Far Rockaway: Officer Shoots Attacking Dog

An incident involving a dangerous animal in Queens culminated in an NYPD officer fatally shooting a pit bull on Monday evening. Police were dispatched to a location in Far Rockaway following reports of an aggressive dog.

The call directed officers to 414 Beach 58th Street in the area around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities encountered the scene of a dog attack in progress.

Victim Sustains Injuries During Attack

The officers discovered the pit bull actively mauling a 28-year-old woman. The victim suffered significant bite injuries to her arm during the assault.

Emergency services transported the injured woman to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed that she was listed in stable condition following treatment for her wounds.
