Nvidia Launches Major DLSS 4.5 Update with AI Enhancements

Nvidia has officially rolled out the latest iteration of its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, designated as DLSS 4.5. This significant update introduces advanced, AI-powered frame generation capabilities for compatible GeForce RTX graphics cards.

These new DLSS 4.5 features are accessible starting today through the beta version of the new Nvidia app. Gamers can immediately utilize these upgrades to boost both performance metrics and visual fidelity across more than 20 supported video games.

Revolutionary 6x Multi Frame Generation

The most notable addition in DLSS 4.5 is the introduction of the 6x Multi Frame Generation feature. This capability is specifically designed for users equipped with the newer RTX 50-series GPUs.

Nvidia states that this advanced mode leverages their second-generation transformer AI model. It is engineered to create five completely new frames for every single frame rendered natively by the hardware. Crucially, this is achieved with what the company describes as a "minimal impact" on system responsiveness.

This marks a substantial improvement over the previous DLSS 4 standard, which previously offered a maximum of three additional generated frames.

Dynamic Frame Generation Introduced

The beta update also includes a separate feature called Dynamic Frame Generation. Users should not confuse this with the Multi Frame Generation modes.

Nvidia characterizes this new system as functioning "like an automatic transmission for your GPU." Its purpose is to automatically adjust between various Multi Frame Generation levels.

This automation aims to help users achieve the optimal balance between high frame rates, superior image quality, and system responsiveness. This feature can be activated manually within specific games or configured to operate universally across all supported titles via the Graphics tab in the Nvidia app settings.

UI Improvements and Game Support Expansion

A new DLSS Frame Generation Model is also part of the 4.5 release, benefiting both GeForce RTX 40 Series and 50 Series owners. This model specifically enhances the visual clarity of on-screen user interface elements, such as mini maps and other display overlays.

The launch of the Nvidia app beta coincides with new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution updates for two specific titles. These additions bring ARC Raiders and Marvel Rivals into the growing list of supported games that Nvidia initially detailed back in January at CES.
