Nobody Wants This Season 3 Review: A Triumphant Return to Form The third season of Nobody Wants This has made a triumphant return to form for its core couple, Joanne and Noah, but it has sacrificed some serious entertainment value. The show has shifted its focus to a happily ever after narrative, which makes it harder to sustain the series. Despite this, the platonic relationship between siblings Morgan and Sasha adds some much-needed dynamic to the show. Nobody Wants This season 3 has made a triumphant return to form for its core couple, Joanne and Noah, but in doing so, has sacrificed some serious entertainment value. The show now feels more like a folding laundry show, rather than a watercooler, must-watch. While the chemistry between Adam Brody and Kristen Bell is still evident, and their performances are excellent, the show has shifted its focus to a happily ever after narrative, which makes it harder to sustain the series. Despite this, the platonic relationship between siblings Morgan and Sasha adds some much-needed dynamic to the show.Season 3 showrunners restore lighthearted toneIn season 2, Nobody Wants This had changed showrunners and essentially retold season 1 with a meaner Noah and none of the intoxicating, love-at-first-sight frisson. The showrunners vowed to dispense with this dynamic in season 3 and have largely succeeded in creating a more lighthearted and comforting narrative. However, it raises another question: what is Nobody Wants This if it's not a will-they, won't-they romance? If Joanne and Noah's happily ever after is guaranteed, is there still enough story to sustain the show? The season does coasts on cozy vibes, but thanks to Brody and Bell's chemistry, it is still entertaining to watch. Nobody Wants This has successfully created a comfortable, feel-good narrative, but it may need to find a new hook to sustain itself in future seasons.
