The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) will honor key creatives behind the shows The Studio and KPop Demon Hunters at its annual Impact Awards Gala.

Celebrating Latino Voices in Hollywood

The gala, scheduled for April 24th, will recognize individuals contributing to a more inclusive media landscape. NHMC President and CEO Brenda Victoria Castillo emphasized the long-standing and vital role of Latinos in Hollywood, stating, “Latinos have been an integral part of Hollywood since its earliest days, building it, shaping it, fueling its creativity, and sustaining its culture.”

Impact Award Recipients

Behind the Lens Impact Award

Actress Belissa Escobedo and writer-director Beth de Araujo will receive the Behind the Lens Impact Award. This award acknowledges their contributions to The Studio, an Emmy-winning series with significant Latino involvement. Additional recipients of this award include Frida Perez, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Lorena Perez Batista, and Antonio Sanchez.

Storytelling Impact Award

Co-writers Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan will be presented with the Storytelling Impact Award. Their work on KPop Demon Hunters has been recognized for its innovative storytelling.

Outstanding Actress Award

Belissa Escobedo will also be honored with the Outstanding Actress Performance in a Series Impact Award for her performance in The Studio.

Gala Details

Comedians Chris Estrada and Frankie Quinones will host the evening. The Impact Awards Gala serves as a celebration of individuals dedicated to creating a more inclusive society. Further announcements regarding honorees, presenters, and guests are expected closer to the event date.
