Guy Ritchie continues to make waves in the television landscape, following the success of his British mystery series, Young Sherlock, which premiered on Prime Video on March 14th. The show quickly rose to become the #1 program on the platform and a global hit.
Ritchie's Expanding TV Universe
Ritchie previously debuted The Gentlemen, a British crime thriller inspired by his 2019 film, two years ago. While the series featured a new cast including Theo James and Giancarlo Esposito, it maintained the intense, binge-worthy quality of the original movie.
The Success of 'MobLand'
Last year, Ritchie introduced MobLand, an epic crime saga starring Tom Hardy as a fixer navigating a conflict between two rival crime families, led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Paddy Considine, known for his role in House of the Dragon, also features in the cast.
The series has been described as a compelling blend of Tulsa King and Peaky Blinders, offering a modern perspective on organized crime. Despite premiering almost a year ago, MobLand remains a top 10 show in several countries on Paramount+.
'MobLand' Season 2: Production Update
Season 2 of MobLand is currently in production and is expected to wrap in the coming months. While a late 2026 release isn't entirely off the table, new episodes are most likely to begin streaming on Paramount+ in 2027.
Paramount+ took some time to renew the series for a second season, but given the show’s viewership and the return of key talent – including Ritchie, Mirren, Hardy, and Brosnan – it is expected to be a priority.
