Cyrus' single Bass Persuades debuted at No. 23 on the charts, then plunged to No. 123 on its second day, and then fell off the chart entirely by day three. Bass Persuades marks a more mainstream sound for Cyrus after her last album, the genre-bending passion project Something Beautiful, underwhelmed commercially. It's also her first release under Atlantic Records, after Cyrus signed with the label after leaving Columbia Records after five years.Under Columbia, Cyrus released Something Beautiful and 2023's Endless Summer Vacation, the latter of which spawned the biggest hit of the star's career, Flowers.
