The retirement of Rajesh Jha, an executive vice president who spent more than three and a half decades at the company, has catalyzed a comprehensive reshuffle within the Experiences and Devices group. Jha had previously overseen a vast portfolio that included Windows, Office, Copilot, and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem. With his departure, the company is not simply filling a void but is instead strategically fragmenting his duties among several high-performing executives to streamline the development of next-generation AI tools and cloud services. This strategic move ensures that the company remains agile in the face of fierce competition in the generative AI space, allowing for more specialized focus on specific product pillars.A central figure in this realignment is Ryan Roslansky, the Chief Executive Officer of LinkedIn. Roslansky, who had already expanded his influence by taking over the Office division last year, is now assuming an even more pivotal role as the head of the newly formed Work Experiences Group. In a significant organizational shift, the Microsoft Teams organization will now report directly to him.By consolidating Office and Teams under a single leadership umbrella, Microsoft aims to create a more unified and seamless environment for professional productivity.
