Lehi Elementary Launches Support Marketplace

Lehi Elementary School in Mesa, Arizona, is addressing the needs of its students and their families with a unique initiative: the Lehi Marketplace. This free marketplace, located in a repurposed classroom, offers donated goods to anyone in need, with no questions asked.

What the Marketplace Offers

The Lehi Marketplace is stocked with a variety of essential items. These include donated clothing, shoes, and non-perishable food items. Family Support Specialist Lidia Severson described the space as filled with “a whole lot of hope.”

A Focus on Removing Barriers

The primary goal of the marketplace is to ensure students have access to necessities, supporting their overall well-being. “I get very emotional because I can see the need and the happiness when I help a parent,” Severson shared. “And I wish I had more to be able to help them more.”

Current Needs & Donation Information

Currently, the Lehi Marketplace is particularly in need of toilet paper, hygiene products, and non-perishable food items. The school welcomes donations of a variety of goods, including:

  • Clothing & Apparel (new children’s clothing, new shoes)
  • Food (canned goods, cereal, boxed meals)
  • Household Essentials (laundry detergent, dish soap/detergent, new sponges)
  • Hygiene & Personal Care (toothbrushes, body wash, deodorant)
  • Infant Care (diapers)
