Toledo Mail Carrier Expresses Disappointment

Ned Mungo, a local mail carrier in Toledo, Ohio, voiced his dismay after learning that many residents on his route have been receiving electronic mail for years without informing him. The revelation left Mungo visibly upset, questioning the dedication of his customers to traditional mail delivery.

“Am I Not Enough?”

“Day in and day out, I’ve been coming to these doorsteps to deliver their beloved letters and catalogues, only to discover that they’ve been getting such messages in their digital mailboxes this entire time,” said a visibly distraught Mungo. He struggled to understand why residents would choose digital communication over the physical delivery of mail.

Questioning the Value of Physical Mail

Mungo expressed feeling undervalued, asking, “Am I not enough? Do these paper documents—lovingly handled, kept safe in the folds of my carrier bag—mean nothing to you?” He pointed out the unique experience of receiving handwritten letters, something he believes digital mail cannot replicate. “Look, here’s a copy of a magazine on your computer? I don’t think so,” he stated.

Discovery of Digital Content

At press time, Mungo’s disappointment deepened after discovering that some residents were receiving sensitive content, such as pornography, in digital form. He expressed his belief that physical letters would bring more joy than their electronic counterparts. “I have no idea what made these people sign up for ‘electronic mail,’ but believe me when I say it will never make you smile the way these handwritten letters could.”
