Laura Pausini Kicks Off 'Yo Canto' World Tour in Spain

Global superstar Laura Pausini launched her highly anticipated Yo Canto World Tour over the weekend. The tour began with a spectacular opening show at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona, Spain.

This extensive tour supports her new cover albums, which pay homage to influential figures in Spanish and Italian music who have shaped her career. Following Pamplona, the tour is scheduled to hit major Spanish cities including Valencia, Madrid, and Barcelona.

A Unique and Challenging Repertoire

Pausini explained that this tour demands a different approach compared to her previous endeavors. Normally, the Spanish version of her albums mirrors the Italian one, sung in the same language.

However, the Yo Canto project is distinct. The Italian album honors Italian artists, while the Spanish album focuses on Spanish singer-songwriters. "That means that when I’m in Spain and North, Central and South America, I’ll have a different repertoire than what I’ll sing in France, Germany, or Italy," Pausini stated.

She noted the significant difference in musical style, emphasizing that the songs featured are Latin American and Spanish classics. "The lyrics and the beat of all the songs aren’t Italian; it’s different from our style," she added enthusiastically.

Pausini shared the dedication required for this project. "So for us, it was a lot of fun, but also challenging. It made us study, and put our hearts into it."

Setlist Highlights for the Americas Leg

For the upcoming legs in Spain, Latin America, and the United States, the singer has prepared an extensive setlist. It heavily features covers from her Yo Canto albums.

Fans can expect powerful renditions of songs such as Shakira’s "Antología," Ricky Martin’s "Livin’ La Vida Loca," Bad Bunny’s "Turista," and Juan Luis Guerra’s "Bachata Rosa." Pausini will also perform many of her enduring personal hits.

Beloved classics making the list include "Se Fue," "La Soledad," "Amores Extraños," and "Las Cosas Que Vives."

Upcoming International Dates

Pausini is set to arrive in the Americas on April 10, commencing her journey in Uruguay. The schedule includes stops across Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

Beginning May 16, she will tour various cities across the U.S. and Canada. The North American leg starts in Miami and is scheduled to conclude in New York City on June 6.

In October, Pausini will commence a new phase of the tour in Italy and other European nations, where she will perform a different repertoire tailored to those audiences.
