Las Vegas Burglary Suspects Apprehended in Utah

A group of alleged burglars originating from Las Vegas faced arrest in Utah this week. Officials reported that the suspects returned to Holladay, Utah, with the intention of apologizing to their victims and returning a significant portion of the stolen property.

Two individuals, Holman Yecid Londono-Poveda, age 20, and Karla Yuliana Diaz-Basilio, age 30, were taken into custody on Monday. Both face three counts each of burglary of a dwelling.

Additionally, Share Castellano-Suarez, 18, was arrested. Castellano-Suarez is charged with two counts of burglary of a dwelling and one count of theft, according to court documents.

Initial Burglary Investigation Details

The Unified Police Department was notified of a burglary incident on March 8, which occurred two days prior on March 6. The victims informed the police that they had just returned from a trip out of town to discover numerous items missing from their residence.

The inventory of stolen property was extensive. It included designer handbags and purses, jewelry, watches, various suitcases, and coats.

Surveillance Footage Reveals Burglary Sequence

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage which captured a Kia Rio entering the victims' driveway. The video showed two suspects exiting the vehicle and gaining entry into the home.

The Kia was observed leaving the premises, only to return shortly afterward. At this point, other suspects reportedly loaded the car with additional stolen items before departing again.

Police stated that approximately two hours later, two of the initial suspects returned and were witnessed taking even more property from the residence. Detectives also believe this same group committed another burglary slightly before the reported incident.

Tracing the Suspects to Las Vegas

Detectives established that the Kia Rio implicated in the crime originated from Las Vegas and had returned to Utah on the same day as the burglary.

Surveillance footage from several locations across Utah reportedly captured images of the three suspects.

Search Warrant and Subsequent Return

On March 26, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of two of the suspects. During this search, police recovered multiple articles of clothing that the suspects were seen wearing on the surveillance videos.

Four days later, the suspects allegedly traveled back to Utah. Their purpose was reportedly to return the majority of the items they had taken from the victims.

Investigators noted that the suspects also provided a written apology letter and offered verbal apologies in person to the homeowners. Later that same day, Unified police intercepted the Kia Rio on the southbound I-15, leading to the arrest of the three individuals.
