Labradoodles Abducted in Encinitas

Esma Bohannon is experiencing a pet owner’s worst nightmare after her two Labradoodles, Coco Chanel and Taco, were stolen from her car in Encinitas, California. The incident occurred last month while Bohannon was running errands, leaving her dogs briefly inside the vehicle.

Caught on Camera: The Theft Unfolds

Security footage shows a vehicle pulling up close to Bohannon’s car. Two unidentified women then approached the vehicle and removed the dogs. The entire event was captured on video, which Bohannon describes as chilling to watch.

Details of the Incident

One of the women opened the unlocked passenger door and took Coco Chanel, a 7-year-old Labradoodle, placing her in the backseat of their car. Moments later, Taco, a 3-year-old Labradoodle, was also removed from the vehicle and placed with her sister. “I just can’t even describe how that feels that someone is taking away your loved ones,” Bohannon stated.

Search Efforts and Plea for Information

Bohannon considered the possibility that the women believed they were rescuing the dogs from the heat, but this offers little comfort. Despite both Coco Chanel and Taco wearing tags with Bohannon’s phone number, they have not been located at any local shelters or humane societies.

A report has been filed with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Bohannon is urgently appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the safe return of her beloved pets. She has repeatedly reviewed the security footage, hoping for a clue.
