LA28 Launches Initial Ticket Sales for 2028 Olympics

The Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28) will begin its first round of ticket sales tomorrow, June 6, 2025. This initial sale is limited to a select group of pre-registered applicants from Southern California and Oklahoma City.

Who is Eligible for the First Sale?

Eligible residents in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties, as well as those in Oklahoma City who signed up in advance, are being notified via email if they have been chosen to participate in the purchasing window. The initial sale period is scheduled for April 2-6, 2025. Selected applicants will receive notification approximately 48 hours before their assigned time slot.

Ticket Limits and Pricing

Each selected buyer will be permitted to purchase up to 12 tickets for Olympic events, with an additional 12 tickets available for Olympic soccer matches. Purchases for the opening and closing ceremonies are capped at four tickets per person. Ticket prices will vary significantly, starting at $28 for entry-level seats and exceeding $1,000 for premium options.

Public Sale and Resale Marketplace

A broader public sale is planned for April 9-19, 2025, making remaining tickets available to fans worldwide. LA28 anticipates online queues during the sales period. Fans can search for events by sport, venue, or location, though specific seat assignments will be determined later.

Resale Platform Details

LA28 is also preparing for a verified secondary ticket marketplace, launching in 2027 in partnership with AXS and Eventim. Additional ticket releases are planned in the coming months, and LA28 recently announced partnerships with Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets to expand resale options. “With millions around the globe registered for the LA28 Ticket Draw — and as excitement for LA28 continues to grow, we want fans to have the information they need to shop with confidence as we approach the first ticket drop,” said Reynold Hoover, LA28 CEO, in a statement.

More than 5 million people have registered for the LA28 ticket draw.
